Barcelona forward Lionel Messi wants his club to transform their scintillating form into silverware this season.

Barcelona have mesmerised the footballing world with their attacking football this campaign. Despite that, playing exciting football has not won them any titles yet.

The Catalans are still involved in three competitions and Barcelona star Lionel Messi has explained how desperate everyone in the team is to win titles this season.

He told Sport: "We all form part of a group that has many important desires to achieve things for the club and for the fans. We have many desires to win titles at the end of this season and I believe that if we continue as we are now, the success will arrive.

"We are adapting very well to the style of play and I believe that we can continue with our system of rotation to maintain this level until the end of the season."

The Argentina international has been a revelation for Barcelona this season, popping up with numerous important goals and assists to fire his team to a massive Primera Liga lead, 12 points ahead of nearest challengers Real Madrid in the league.

However, Messi was adamant that he feels just the same as he did last year.

He stated: "The truth is that I feel equally as important as always. last year I was away from the pitch for a lot of time and I value being able to play."

The twinkled-toed winger also took time out to praise Brazilian right-back Dani Alves, who has consistently shined for the Blaugrana after joining from Sevilla last summer.

He concluded: "Dani is an impressive player and it is fantastic to play with him with the qualities that he has and the options he gives us on the pitch."
