Kuhn savours 'perfect goodbye'

Share

Aalborg BK caretaker coach Allan Kuhn said it was "the perfect way to say goodbye" after ending his 12-game spell in charge of the Danish champions unbeaten with a fine draw at European champions Manchester United FC. Sir Alex Ferguson, meanwhile, was just happy to have finished top of UEFA Champions League Group E.

Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United manager
We had some great chances and taking 50 per cent of them would have comfortably won the game for us. We had better control in the second half and should have won. There were some pluses, though, and it is a good thing that we won the group. We had a lot of young players tonight and an experience like this can only be good a thing for them. There are no easy games now, we are expecting a tough game whoever we get. The good thing is that the second leg is at home and no one will want to come here. We're in there and that's the important thing so let's have a go.

Allan Kuhn, AaB caretaker coach
I'm very proud to get a draw at Old Trafford. It has been a great night for all of our supporters and I have made sure that the players went out again to thank them for their support. We had to be calm and of course United pushed us hard right until the end but our goalkeeper had the match of his life and you have to have the match of your life if you are to get something here. The is the perfect way to say goodbye, I'm proud of this club and the players.
