Arsenal trio to miss Fenerbahçe trip

William Gallas, Bacary Sagna and Nicklas Bendtner have all been ruled out of Arsenal FC's UEFA Champions League fixture at Fenerbahçe SK next Tuesday as manager Arsène Wenger counts the "heavy losses" of the international break.

Wenger concern
The London club confirmed this afternoon that Gallas (hamstring) and Sagna (knee) suffered knocks playing for France, while Bendtner (ankle) was injured representing Denmark. The trio will miss the Group G trip to Turkey, while Cesc Fàbregas (broken nose), Robin van Persie (muscle) and Johan Djourou (concussion) are expected to travel despite awaiting tests on their ailments. "Unfortunately we have lost some players over the ten days," said Wenger. "These are heavy losses and we have to compensate [for] them. Fortunately the three of them don't look to be out for a long, long time but they will be out for the weekend game and I think the game on Tuesday."

Diaby return
Midfielder Abou Diaby could be in line for a first appearance of the season against either Everton FC in the Premier League on Saturday or at Fenerbahçe after overcoming a thigh problem. "At least Abou Diaby is back in the squad again," Wenger continued. "Even though he has not played games he will be used, at the least in the squad, because we have lost those three players."
