Del Piero, Amauri And Nedved Rested For Zenit Clash

Share

Juventus have already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages - and in style. The Bianconeri did the double over nine-time winners Real Madrid, capped by a quite unbelievable 2-0 result in the Spanish capital a fortnight ago.

They now travel to Russia to face Zenit St Petersburg, who they fortunately edged in their opening game, and the aim is to defend their first place in Group H.

However, a second string Juve side may be fielded for the early kick off, 18:30 (CET).

Tuttosport claims Alessandro Del Piero and Amauri will be rested with Vincenzo Iaquinta and Sebastian Giovinco being dragged in to form the attacking partnership up front.

Mauro Camoranesi, who was a substitute against Inter on Saturday, should get the nod tomorrow night.

Pavel Nedved will also be rested with Paolo De Ceglie starting on the left.

Gianluigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Jonathan Zebina, Dario Knezevic, Christian Poulsen, Hasan Salihamidzic and Albin Ekdal will all stay behind.

Cristiano Zanetti is back and ready to return following injury but it's highly unlikely Ranieri will use him in a game in which there is nothing to play for.

It's a great chance for the second choice players to stake their claim.

Juve were very poor against Inter on the weekend and certain players could find it hard to get back into the team if those starting on Tuesday night take their chance.
