Iaquinta And Giovinco Rue Juventus Defeat At Inter

Share

Bitter rivals met on Saturday night and Juventus were outclassed and outmuscled by José Mourinho’s Inter juggernaut throughout the encounter and were fortunate enough to ship just a single goal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic squandered at least two glorious chances when one-on-one with goalkeeper Alex Manninger, but one wayward shot eventually turned into an assist for Sulley Muntari to tap into an empty net.

“We are obviously disappointed at this loss to Inter,” Iaquinta is quoted as saying in Calciomercatonews.com

“But we must give them credit, as they had far more shots on goal. Nonetheless, our objectives for the title are unchanged.

“Now we turn our attentions to the Champions League where we want to confirm our first place. However, it won’t be an easy job in Russia, because they will try to win and then face Real Madrid in a make or break tie.”

Claudio Ranieri’s men will pay visit to Zenit St Petersburg tomorrow night and the Atomic Ant is also hopeful the Old Lady can soon redeem themselves.

“We are undoubtedly unhappy at the San Siro defeat,” he noted, “but we now have this European clash to get our minds off it and we go there to claim the full points.”

“As for me, I clearly hope to play, like the rest of my teammates, but I patiently wait for my chance to shine, as I knew what it would be like coming back to Turin.”
