Real Madrid CF will be without striker Gonzalo Higuaín for their trip to Belarus to take on FC BATE Borisov due to an ankle injury to add to Bernd Schuster's absentees.
Injury list
Higuaín suffered a badly sprained left ankle during his team's 1-0 Liga win against RC Recreativo de Huelva on Saturday and will be unavailable on Tuesday as Madrid seek a victory that will take them through from Group H if FC Zenit St. Petersburg fail to defeat Juventus. The injury to Madrid's top scorer comes as a huge blow to coach Schuster who will also be without fellow forward Ruud van Nistelrooy due to a knee injury as well as midfielder Mahamadou Diarra and defender Fabio Cannavaro with thigh problems, winger Arjen Robben after a calf muscle tear and Rubén de la Red, who is continuing his recovery from an on-field fainting incident. However, Wesley Sneijder is available after his calf injury proved not to be serious.
