Roma's Turning Point Was Against Chelsea - Taddei

Roma midfielder Rodrigo Taddei is convinced that the prestigious 3-1 win against Chelsea in the Champions League helped them turn around what was turning out to be a disastrous season.

Roma made a disastrous start to the season, falling well off the pace in Serie A but, since beating Chelsea in the Champions League a fortnight ago, their form has improved, and they also defeated Lazio in the derby last weekend.

Taddei believes that the triumph over Chelsea was worth more than just the three points at stake.

"I think that the win against Chelsea changed our season," explained the former Siena player. "We went through a very delicate period, but such wins are really good for morale.

"Rome is a city that loves the extremes: therefore, either everything is going well, or everything is going badly.

"It had already happened some years ago, in my first season with the Giallorossi. In any case, we know that we are strong, even though so far we haven't proven this.

"The win against Lazio in Serie A helped us a lot in this sense."

This weekend Roma travel to Lecce hoping to continue their recent resurgence.
